We are looking for a prevention of violence against women or family violence prevention specialist, with a detailed understanding of the evidence base, and with some policy and project experience in this space. This is an exciting opportunity to inform and support Respect Victoria's public positioning and strategic intent, contribute to formal policy advice to Government, and support advice to organisations and government to ensure prevention of family violence and violence against women is implemented across government and community.
Using your detailed and specialised knowledge and experience in the prevention of violence against women and family violence, this position will support delivery of evidence-based policy advice and thought leadership. The position will work closely with a small team to review and synthesise key issues, risks and trends in the prevention of family violence and violence against women policy and contribute to evidence-based policy position papers and projects, briefs, submissions, and reports.
- Demonstrated experience in the prevention of family violence and all forms of violence against women sector of at least 2 years, is essential for this role
- Demonstrated experience in policy or projects in the prevention of family violence and all forms of violence against women sector, is essential for this role
- Specialist knowledge and experience in the prevention of family violence and all forms of violence against women sector is required for this role.

Desirable skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in the prevention of family violence and all forms of violence against women sector in a Victorian context
- Demonstrated project management and/or contract management experience.

Desirable expertise
- Relevant expertise in, or exposure to, a government context.

Respect Victoria was established as a Statutory Authority under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018 (the Act) on 4 October 2018. We have a broad focus on the primary prevention of all forms of violence against women and family violence in Victoria, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide statewide leadership to create social, institutional, organisational and community change.
