The Policy Officer, Mental Health and Wellbeing Promotion Office, will be working as part of the team that is implementing a key reform of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. The policy officer will be engaged in developing Victoria's first ever Statewide Wellbeing Plan to promote good mental health and wellbeing for Victorians wherever we live, work, learn and play. This will involve extensive engagement with community and sector partners to shape future priorities and the establishment of a mental health promotion infrastructure to create meaningful change.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to the development and provision of advice and sound policy recommendations to senior management and government.
- Undertake research and contribute to the development of a range of policy and initiatives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
- Assist the monitoring and reporting on high priority issues, risks and trends and assist to prepare and present comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex issues.
- Support effective working relationships and the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
