**How will I help?**

Global Transaction Services (GTS) is a key pillar of Westpac’s institutional bank that services the cash management and working capital needs of Westpac’s institutional customers, whilst managing and running the payments infrastructure for the wider bank.

GTS is running an International Payments Program that is looking at three pillars:

- Upgrading a legacy system that processes high value and international payments
- Migrating the organization from MT messaging for high value and international payments to the latest ISO 20022 standards
- Preparing for the G20 requirements for 2027 - 2030 as it pertains to speed, cost, transparency and access.

These initiatives form part of a global industry change to move the experience of sending or receiving money from overseas closer to a domestic payment.

The Payments Product Owner sits within GTS and will be responsible for developing the requirements and prioritized road map for delivering the G20 requirements agenda. They will partner with key project stakeholders, including Financial Markets, Technology, Operations, Risk, Client Engagement teams across Consumer, Business and GTS and key partner vendors. You will be the key link between the Product team and the transformation delivery team. They will represent the Product team and wider business requirements in the Agile ceremonies as well as manage delivery prioritisation within the Agile delivery framework. You will be accountable to work with the Risk, Legal and Compliance teams to ensure proper Product and Services Lifecycle governance and risk delivery. In addition to this you will:

- Lead the vision for the customer experience as international payments improve in speed, cost, transparency and access, including implementing a strategy that delivers against the objectives and principles of G20 principles as laid out by RBA and ACCC.
- Manage the product backlog, including supporting backlog prioritisation, program increment and sprint planning, delivery, testing and retrospectives.
- Work with delivery teams to lead the build and implementation of target solutions against a challenging release schedule.
- Understand the impacts of changes to applicable legislation, regulatory and payment scheme frameworks, and ensure the target design meets the requirements of Compliance and Risk. Rigorously identify and diligently manage operational risks, incidents, issues and controls.
- Be the expert within the payments domain in relation to competitors, new emerging products & services, leading thinking on customer needs led product management, industry knowledge, emerging market trends locally and globally and general market conditions.

**What do I need?**

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience working in a role where you are driving and maintaining a strong risk culture, with a relentless focus on initiatives to strengthen the control environment. You will have experience in accessing, managing and optimising risk to ensure that financial goals are met within agreed risk appetite levels. You will be confident leading by example and encouraging others to behave in ways which support the development of successful and desired business culture. In addition to this you will:

- Have International Payments experience
- Have Product Management and Business Analysis experience.
- Be able to demonstrate and promote ‘One Westpac’ team behaviours with the aim to facilitate greater internal communication and performance outcomes across lines of business.
- Have satisfactory performance against applicable internal and external compliance and control standards and codes of conduct including but not limited to conduct rules under the Senior Manager and Certified Person Regime.
- Have excellent stakeholder engagement, and communication skills - both written and oral.
- Be a team player and able to work well collaboratively as well as autonomously.
