**About the opportunity**:
Our team at Baulkham Hills are looking for a compassionate support worker for a permanent part-time position. This opportunity suits individuals who want to provide individualised support in a group home setting. The rate is $33.42/hr + superannuation + salary packaging.

**Role Requirements**:

- Manual Handling - one of the customers requires assistance due to mobility deterioration.
- Experience in high support needs - PEG feeding, medication, epilepsy and acquired brain injury.
- Extensive experience in providing direct care to people with complex needs, people with intellectual disabilities, autism, bipolar, self-harm and challenging behaviours.
- Flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster; weekends are a must.

**What the group home location is like**:
This group home caters to individuals with high support needs and challenging behaviour concerns. The residents have a Positive Behavior Support plan in place, as well as restricted practices to maintain their day-to-day activities. One of the residents requires manual handling practices due to mobility issues, including using a wheelchair, shower commode, exercise walker, household duties, cooking, cleaning, and other domestic tasks. It is essential to have extensive experience in supporting individuals with severe intellectual disabilities, bipolar disorder, and early-onset dementia.

**Typical duties might include**:

- Supporting customers to develop and maintain independence.
- Undertaking various household tasks, including mealtime management, cleaning, shopping and other community access activities.
- Personal care includes bowel care, manual handling using various equipment and aids, and other health and hygiene needs such as feeding, medication, dressing, toileting, and showering.
- Supporting customers with intellectual disability, high physical support needs and medical / health needs.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with our customers and to support their care plans, including goals

**Pre-Employment Requirements**:

- Valid working rights.
- A current Driver's Licence and confidence to drive an accessible van.
- NSW Working with Children Check NSW.
- NDIS Worker Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Health Assessment
