**The opportunity**
The SRO is seeking a skilled and experienced risk and corporate governance expert to join our busy and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a variety of risk and corporate governance activities throughout the organisation. If you have a strong background in risk and/or corporate governance, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to ensuring compliance and value for money outcomes, we want to hear from you.
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage a team responsible for the provision of:
- accounts payable services
- accounts receivable services
- corporate card coordination and monitoring
- daily banking requirements and expense/allowance payments
- Manage resource planning and administer and implement HR policies for team members, e.g. leave attendance, performance management, training and development, recruitment.
- Lead, support, mentor and train team members to ensure work activities are undertaken professionally and decisions are made in accordance with policies, procedures and legislation.
**Who we are looking for**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated people management skills to motivate, mentor, train and performance manage team members to achieve team/branch objectives
- Proven financial management experience including accrual accounting, accounts payable and receivable processes with a practical understanding of public sector financial processes
- Extensive knowledge of and experience using financial management systems preferably Oracle Financials or similar
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to analyse data, identify trends/issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive and effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally to the SRO.
