Education Support Officer

**About the role**

The Education Support Officer is supervised by the Trainer/Assessor and works under their direction. The role is responsible for a range of activities, which supports learners and enhances the student learning experience and educative processes.

**Position responsibilities**
- Provide support to students to carry out tasks and facilitate their understanding of the learning materials and concepts.
- Follow up students to encourage ongoing engagement and motivate and encourage the students to complete their tasks and activities.
- Support Trainer/Assessor in meeting VRQA compliance functions including documentation.
- Supplement the learning activities by providing follow-up instruction as provided by the trainer to practice skills to enhance the student’s educative experience and engagement.
- Work in conjunction with Trainers and carry out administrative functions as required.
- Maintaining a professional image and positive outlook in representing the organisation.
- All other duties as directed by the RTO Manager.

**Note**: This role does not train or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessments.

**Knowledge, skills, and experience**
- CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support or CHC40221 - Certificate IV in School Based Education Support.
- Ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team.
- Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
- High level written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to accept direction, provide and receive constructive feedback.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- A personal alignment with the values of Brite.

**Additional requirements**
- Current drivers’ licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Working with Children check
- Fully vaccinated
- Provide verified copies of relevant Qualifications, Certificates or other Testamurs
