**About The Role**

Barkuma are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their finance team. Based in the Adelaide CBD this is an exciting full time ongoing opportunity. As the Payroll Officer you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the payroll system while overseeing day to day payroll processing activities. With an ability to work autonomously, you will work with a high level of accuracy to meet deadlines while remaining driven by compliance in relation to statutory and legislative requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage payroll system operations, encompassing processing, salary packaging, and superannuation, while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Serve as a central point of contact for payroll-related matters, liaising with staff, management, and external entities.
- Verify rosters and timekeeping records, prepare, and submit various payroll documents, and oversee end-of-month and end-of-year processes.
- Administer parental leave payments, maintain pay rate records, and handle wage calculations and adjustments.
- Facilitate reporting obligations and provide guidance on Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, address stakeholder queries, and contribute to broader finance department functions.

**Key Skills and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience within complex payroll of over 100 employees.
- Proven experience in financial operations management, within a similar sized organisation.
- Experience with large payroll systems.
- Excellent PC and Microsoft Office literacy.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of not-for-profit or disability sector operations and relevant legislation.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced time management and organisation skills.
- Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Government Funding mechanisms.
- Exposure to Disability Employment Services (DES) Funding.

**Special Conditions**:

- Flexibility to work and travel across various Barkuma sites.
- Valid work rights for Australia.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You', infection control certificate, and Child Safe Environment training certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Possession of a current Australian Driver's Licence (restricted P2 licence and above) and comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
- Full COVID vaccination (or valid medical exemption) will be required as part of ongoing employment.

- This position will be based primarily out of our city office. Parking is available.
