Casual Tutor in Management

The Department of Management within Macquarie Business School is currently inviting expressions of interest from appropriately qualified and professionally experienced individuals to undertake tutorials in Management during the day or evening.

The positions are only available to those who are eligible to work in Australia, those who have studied upper-level Management (or related) courses and are able to demonstrate understanding of the content for the units they wish to tutor in, and those who hold a qualification at least one level higher than that held by the students enrolled in the degree in which they are teaching.

We expect to offer on-campus only activities for Postgraduate courses, and both on-campus and online activities for Undergraduate courses.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for tutor positions, applicants must possess the following:
- An undergraduate degree (3 years +) or equivalent post graduate qualification relevant to their desired teaching discipline(s).- Sound knowledge of relevant course content as demonstrated by academic achievement and/or professional experience.- Strong interpersonal, oral communication and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics, to lead discussions, and to foster group work.- Ability to work collaboratively and liaise professionally with students, other tutors, academic staff, and professional staff.- Ability to mark assessments to specified marking criteria, being attentive to signs of academic misconduct; ability to provide feedback and prepare result submissions, with attention to detail and in a timely fashion. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in facilitating active learning approaches. This involves actively engaging students with the course material through discussions, problem solving, case studies, role plays and other methods. You may be required to complete relevant training (provided by Macquarie University) as a condition of employment.

Preference will also be given to applicants who hold higher, relevant degrees, and have teaching experience, preferably at University level.

Successful Expressions of Interest will be kept on file and may be considered by the Department when a vacancy arises that is an appropriate match to their skill base, disciplinary background, and availability.
