The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

Provide clinical exercise physiology services to the Mental Health Unit within the Acute and High Dependency Unit. The position will require clinical intervention and consultation across all mental health disorders, occasionally consulting in the Older Persons Mental Health Unit (OPMHU).

Provide education, advice, and support for clinicians at NBMLHD regarding exercise physiology for consumers with complex physical and mental health needs.

Exercise physiology within Mental Health is an emerging field. This position will be required to participate in the ongoing development and delivery of clinical exercise interventions in Mental Health for NBMLHD. The role will require the incumbent to provide evidence-based practices relating to physical activity and exercise assessment, prescription, interventions and programs and delivery group-based exercise and education sessions for consumers along with representing exercise physiology in Mental Health.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Exercise Science and rehabilitation or Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology with eligibility for accreditation with Exercise Sport Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist
- Extensive full time or equivalent part time clinical experience with chronic and complex diseases, and demonstrated high level of knowledge, skills and clinical expertise, with a particular interest in mental health
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated effective time management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and contribution to evidence based practice, research and/or quality improvement
- Experience supervising students and facilitating an environment for personal and professional development
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
