The Infrastructure Directorate is the City of Stirling’s largest and most diverse Directorate, managing many of the City’s important assets and environmental services while delivering a multi-million-dollar portfolio of projects and programs.

**About the Position**

Are you passionate about waste management and looking for a leadership role in a dynamic and supportive environment? The City of Stirling is seeking a dedicated and skilled Leading Hand to join our Waste & Fleet Business Unit at the Recycling Centre Balcatta.

**Key Responsibilities**

The duties of the Leading Hand Transfer Station will include but are not limited to:

- Assist Supervisors in daily operations of the Transfer Station.
- Conduct vehicle/trailer inspections for correct disposal and hazardous materials.
- Provide excellent customer service in line with the Customer Service Charter.
- Operate plant equipment such as forklifts, tractors, and buggies.
- Perform daily maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Supervise and support outside staff, contractors, and onsite operations.
- Participate in a 14-day rotational roster, providing coverage year-round.
- Undertake administrative duties and act in the Supervisor role as needed.

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will have a high level of interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a strong emphasis on customer service

In addition, to be considered for this role, you’ll possess the following skills and/or qualifications:

- Year 10 certificate or equivalent.
- Forklift ticket.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to deal with difficult customers and provide clear communication.
- Experience in the delivery of Recycling Centre services.
- Current First Aid Certificate and National Police Clearance (under 3 months).

This temporary full-time position is a Level 6 Outside Workforce Agreement position which attract a salary from $75,442 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
