About the role:

Juniper Aged Care is actively seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Kitchen Hand / Domestic Caterer to join our dedicated team at Juniper Chrystal Halliday in Karrinyup on a permanent part-time basis. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the kitchen by preparing food and maintaining cleanliness in accordance with food safety standards.

The ideal candidate would be able to work a mix of AM and PM shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and presenting meals
  • Providing kitchen hand services including food preparation, texture modification, accurate portioning, serving residents, and maintaining a welcoming cafe atmosphere
  • Cleaning cooking areas and equipment to a high standard
  • Applying safe food handling practices and adhering to Juniper's policies and procedures related to Occupational Safety and Health

Key requirements:

  • Must have valid work rights in Australia
  • Experience in a commercial cooking environment or aged care catering
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and hygiene standards, including maintaining cleanliness and safety
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with residents, customers, and team members
  • Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling procedures
