**Overview**:
As a Payroll Advisor, you would generally be required to undertake tasks of moderate complexity and work under general direction. You may supervise and provide leadership of a team and be responsible for coaching and training newer and less experienced members. You will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where judgement and attention to detail is required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Handle salary variations, allowances, and staff cessations.
- Comply with APS legislation, Enterprise Agreement, and policies.
- Ensure accurate payroll data and meticulous record-keeping.
- Offer comprehensive and accurate payroll guidance to stakeholders.
- Manage records following departmental guidelines.
- Actively enhance payroll processes.

**Ideally, you will have**:

- Automated pay management system experience
- Teamwork and team development skills
- Interpretation of employment legislation for accurate advice on employee entitlements
- Strong written, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service and stakeholder relationship-building abilities
- Organizational skills, adaptability, and drive for results

**Required Education and Experience**:

- Experience in undertaking pay transactions on an automated pay management system
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products
- Two to four years in payroll, finance, or HR administration
- Qualification in finance/payroll, administration or a related field
