Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 locations in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
**Austin Health’s Mobile Support and Treatment Service (MSTS)** provides case management services to consumers with a significant mental illness and psycho-social disabilities. We provide assertive and intensive case management to assist the consumer to live and function at their optimum level in the community. We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician who enjoys working with in a multidisciplinary clinical team and who will provide intensive and assertive community case management to consumers with a significant mental illness using the Recovery Oriented Framework to assist consumers work towards their recovery goals
**Applicants will be required to** demonstrate a good understanding of the recovery philosophy and an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical guidance and support to their colleagues. The successful clinician will provide case primary case management to a group of identified consumers in establishing recovery goals and building on their personal strengths through skills training, education, and individual goal directed activities. They will also provide support to consumers of other case managers as required.
**To be successful in this role you must have**:
- Relevant professional qualification in a health-related discipline (psychology, social work, registered nurse or occupational therapy) with current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) where applicable.
- Psychologists must be registered with a specialist endorsement in either Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or Forensic Psychology
- Tertiary specialist qualifications
- Nurses must have a Post-Graduate Qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
**You must also demonstrate**:
- Sound knowledge of recovery and collaborative clinical practice;
- Knowledge of, and the ability to apply, the principles and practices of your discipline;
- Demonstrated experience and ability in community-based assessment and management of people with substantial and prolonged mental illness;
