About us
On our journey to be Australia’s bank of choice, we continue to set the example of how banking should be: progressive, innovative, sustainable, shared, and most importantly, trusted.
Within People & Culture sits our Workplace Safety team who ensure the safety, health, and well-being of our employees is top priority.
About the role
We currently have a permanent opportunity for an Injury and Compensation Manager to join the team reporting into the Head of Workplace Safety. You will manage the return-to-work programmes for ill and injured workers across Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and provide support in the area of return to work across our Community Bank and Alliance partners. You will provide reporting and data on workers’ compensation and other safety indicators, as well as manage safety incidents reported through the Bank’s incident, injury, and hazard reporting system.
Bringing your knowledge and expertise as a proven injury and return to work specialist, you will engage with key stakeholders to develop and implement return to work strategies and plans, (including contact with treating health practitioners), within a workers’ compensation and employee relations framework.
You will manage the key relationships with the Bank’s workers’ compensation insurance providers across the jurisdictions. This includes the provision of the annual remuneration declarations in all states and territories, and the end-to-end management of workers’ compensation claims in accordance with the legislative requirements that apply. Additionally, you will conduct WHS risk assessments when required, completing workflow using the on-line systems, and conducting the necessary follow-up work required.
This role is based in Adelaide for the days that you’re in the office, and then other days you’ll be able to work from home to help better balance your life and work.
About you
**To be successful in the role, you'll have**:
A tertiary degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience in a similar role
Graduate qualifications in Injury Management or related discipline
Previous experience in a return to work or injury management role; or experience in managing a workers’ compensation program
Proven working knowledge of current return to work and workers’ compensation legislation
Proven working knowledge of WHS risk, and WHS incident management
Demonstrated experience in providing return to work and injury management advice to all levels of staff
Claims and injury management knowledge, with the ability to develop and implement return to work strategies, and plans (including contact with treating health practitioners) within a workers’ compensation and employee relations framework
Problem solving and analytical skills to research, analyse, and evaluate complex information from a range of sources and delivery options, being able to make recommendations and plans for action
Fantastic written and verbal communication skills
The ability to build strong relationships internally and externally, negotiating with influence at all levels
