**About the role**

Connecting Abilities is a fast-growing, innovative, and dynamic organisation. We are seeking Casual Disability Support Workers who have experience in supporting participants with high complex behavior. You will work in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) to provide people with high complex support needs an opportunity to live in an environment that supports and maximises personal growth and independence.

Our Disability Support Workers support our participants as they shape and improve their lives. They create opportunities, are champions of connecting their abilities, and inspire partnerships of support that encourage every individual to realise the full potential of their life as a human being.

**About you**

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have demonstrated experience providing support to participants with high complex behavior and have the following skills and attributes:

- Certificate III in Disability, or Individual Support
- Experience with complex and challenging behaviour
- Experience within the industry (eg. disability, mental health, aged care, individual support, community services or youth work etc.)
- Clear and effective communication skills and ability to establish a professional relationship with participant and their families
- Attention to detail and accuracy in the record management
- Flexibility to work over a 7-day roster and the availability to work overnight shifts or attend training or meetings as required
- First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, and Medication Administration training or willing to obtain one.
- Current Open Driver’s License (**mandatory**).
