**About the role**

The primary purpose of this position is to provide surveillance and monitor to protect Ventia’s interests in relation to 3rd party works (including Water Authorities, Utility Providers, Transport Operators, and private sector developers) on the WRU network.

The key objective is to minimise the impact of these works on Ventia’s ability to meet maintenance obligations and contractual KPI requirements.

**The main responsibilities will be**:

- Attending pre-commencement, hold-point, practical completion and final completion meetings and inspections
- Quality control and auditing to ensure completed 3rd party works on the WRU network meets the quality requirements and design specifications for hand over to the WRU maintenance teams.
- NCR reporting, record keeping, quality compliance control documentation and program updates
- Develop relationship with contractors, DoT project teams, utility contractors and transport operators to create collaborative and pragmatic environment
- Understand and share with Ventia Assets and Delivery team’s our obligations under the Road Management Act (RMA) and sub-delegated authority to manage DoT assets
- Review of design drawings and conduct asset take offs for recording additional assets

**About you**
You will have a** **Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, or construction related discipline, accompanied with extensive experience of managing road maintenance and/or capital works projects.

You will also possess:

- Qualifications in asset management or quality management (desirable)
- Understanding of the Road Management Act, Road Management Plan and asset maintenance works
- Understanding of VicRoads Specifications and quality systems.
- Understanding of impacts of construction activities to the life cycle maintenance obligations of the Contract.
- Understanding of DOT Construction specifications
- Knowledge of whole of life road maintenance principals and strategies.
- Reporting and document control skills
- Quality control and management of Third Parties
