Osborne Richardson are delighted to be partnering with a leading State Government agency in Queensland to source a Manager (Reviews) focused on Forestry contracts and compliance across Queensland. In this key, casual role in the Forestry Team, you will undertake in-depth reviews pertaining to value reviews for timber, policies and procedures, and other reviews as identified and approved by the Executive Team.

This role sits within a Department, where the business goal is to foster secure and viable forest, timber and extractive industries that attract further investment and development opportunities for regional Queensland and protect economic, environmental, community and cultural values. The core business is the sale and marketing of State-owned native forest timber, quarry material, and other forest products. The main products are: hardwood timber, cypress timber and quarry products. Other key activities include apiary site management on State Forests, plantation license management and provision of broader industry policy advice.

With this in mind, your role will include the following wide range of duties:

- Conducting value reviews for timber, policies and procedures, and other forestry-related reviews as identified and approved by the Forestry Executive Team
- Analysis of available information critically to gain insight into issues
- Make decisions with courage, even under pressure
- Communication of decisions and rationale clearly and deliberately to different stakeholders
- Working collaboratively to recognize and mitigate potential bias in decision-making
- Operate to key standards and demonstrate respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks
- Evaluation of possible solutions and taking appropriate steps to mitigate risks

1. Tertiary qualification in forestry and/or business administration and/or an integral working knowledge of Queensland Forestry operations and processes

2. Strong analytical skills and the ability to critically analyse information

3. Courage to make decisions, even under pressure

4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate decisions and rationale clearly and deliberately to different stakeholders

5. Strong understanding of legislation and policy frameworks related to forestry operations

6. Ability to evaluate possible solutions and take appropriate steps to mitigate risks

Additional Information
- All applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- This position will work casual hours dependent on tasks and timeframes in which they are required to be delivered. The ordinary hours of duty will be between 6am and 6pm Monday - Friday, exclusive of meal breaks and will be a maximum of up to 36.25 hours per week (unless otherwise negotiated).
