Since 2001, Northrop Grumman has delivered Through-Life Support to the Royal Australian Air Force’s 86 Wing; 34 Squadron located at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra. The high-performing Northrop Grumman SPA (Special Purpose Aircraft) team is comprised of approximately 50 staff who provide all levels of maintenance, training and logistics support to the fleet of 2x Boeing BBJ’s and 3x Dassault Falcon 7X’s.
Northrop Grumman has an exciting opportunity for a **Maintenance Watch** - **Technical Officer **to join the Continuing Airworthiness Management Services (CAMS) Group in direct support of the SPA Program.
The SPA CAMS Maintenance Watch role holds primary responsibility for the coordination, actioning and timely clearances of all deferred defects generated by the SPA fleet. Working closely with the AMO Production Planning Group and Logistics the role provides:
- Operational and logístical decisions on deferred defects and authorisation of courses of actions from a best for platform perspective.
- Assist Co-ordination of response to AOG Events with the SPA AMO Production Planning group, while maintaining the CAMO’s requirements.
- Assist Co-ordination of Heavy Maintenance events with the SPA AMO Production Planning group.
- Assist 21J Engineering group with required data to support rectification actions, AOG’s and deferrals
- Deferred defect rectification timescales are reduced to a minimum. In addition, mission impact considerations and platform cost implications are monitored.
- Co-ordination of provision of advice on all approved methods of defect deferral and providing SME advice when the defect falls within the person’s area of expertise.
- Maintaining reporting metrics for both customer interface and reliability data correlation.
**Essential Requirements**:
- Technical qualifications in an Aviation field (Minimum Cert IV)
- Knowledge of maintenance control systems and understanding of the regulations in relation to the maintenance of aircraft
- Proficient in MS office suite of tools (Excel, Word and Access primarily)
- Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance to baseline Level
**Desired Requirements**:
- Degree qualifications in relevant field and/or AME/LAME qualification
- Certifications in Project Management
- Working knowledge of a base/heavy maintenance environment
