As the Payroll Officer, your role is to assist in the processing and reporting functions associated with the payroll of EML employees and associated entities. This position operates in a customer service and deadline driven environment that focuses on the effective operation of the EML payroll function.

This will be a **permanent** position based in the **Sydney CBD** office.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Aid, develop, implement, forecast, and drive the strategic direction, performance, and sustainability of the payroll function.
- Preparation of fortnightly pay including data entry, checking, and processing of information from manual forms or electronic timesheets, (i.e., processing of leave forms, employee deductions, pay adjustments, etc.), leave reconciliations and month end accounting and payment processes.
- Accurate preparation of ad-hoc reporting.
- Assist with system and process improvements to expedite the payroll process.
- Liaise with Human Resources to ensure payroll is in accordance with individual employment agreements, industry awards and EML requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures to meet internal and external audit requirements.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent and qualification aligned to Payroll / Accounting
- Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience, working within in in a fast-paced business environment
- Knowledge of Payroll legislative requirements (awards, Payroll tax, Superannuation, PAYG and Workers Compensation
- Exposure to Aurion preferable
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office suite
- Exceptional communication, people, and customer service skills

At EML we are continuing to hire nationally during COVID-19. As a business, we are currently onboarding all new staff virtually to accommodate current restrictions. Once these restrictions are lifted, we will migrate back to a work from office environment with new starters commencing within the office environment for their onboarding period of at least 4 weeks.
