About the Role
Our Heritage Manor Community in Morwell are seeking compassionate individuals who want to gain practical skills and experience as Personal Care Assistants and develop a career in the Aged Care sector. This role is part time (maximum term).
Baptcare partners with reputable & industry leading training organisations, delivering high-quality health and aged care education, to provide you a unique career opportunity to earn money & getting hands-on experience while completing a Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care Stream) - CHC33021,
As part of our traineeship, Baptcare support your training by providing a supportive team & buddy for you to gain practical experience under the expert guidance of our training partners.
You will learn how to provide care and support that enhances our resident's wellbeing. You will be committed to the needs of our clients, delivering high quality care, maintaining an optimal level of dignity, respect, comfort, and quality of life for clients.
**Our Traineeship will provide you with**:

Key Duties
You’ll assist our Residents live their best possible life, supporting them to live independently, with dignity and self-determination. You’ll assist them with everyday activities.
Commitment to providing consumer centered care of the highest standards.
Creating a welcoming, professional, & supportive care experience.
Build relationships with our residents and visitors.
Maintain accurate documentation of consumer outcomes.
Recognise changes in a consumer’s health status and report appropriately.
Respond to changing needs of consumers.
Assistance with personal care & domestic duties.
Hoisting & manual handling assistance.
Adhere to all the relevant workplace safety laws & regulations.
Supporting consumers to continue to do the things they love & enjoy and deliver life-transforming care and support.

About You
If you are a compassionate, positive person and a natural caregiver wanting to make a difference to people's lives, if you are seeking a career change, a recent school leaver looking to kickstart your career, Baptcare’s traineeship to become a Personal Care Assistant could be right for you. No experience or qualifications required.
Be kind, empathetic, caring in nature.
Life experience as a Carer is desirable, but not essential.
Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to learn.
Have a desire to help older people in your community live their best lives.
Be interested in pursuing a career in aged care.
MUST be either an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen.
Be willing to undergo a National Criminal History Check, Reference Check & Health Assessment.
Covid-19 vaccinations - Dose 1 & 2 mandatory (as per State legislation).
Be committed to obtaining a qualification for up to 12 months.
Have access to a computer & internet.
Able to work part time and commence at 7am for the morning shift and 3pm for the afternoon shift.
