**Position**
You will work within a multidisciplinary team environment. As an Emergency Medicine ACEM Trainee you will be responsible for managing the care of patients in consultation with the Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.

Access to a wide clinical case load with mixed presentations.

**Hospital**
This is Australia's second oldest hospital opening in 1804, and is a major clinical teaching and research centre working closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. The hospital provides acute, sub acute, mental health and aged care inpatient and ambulatory services to a population of about 240,000 people and has 550 physical beds, including 460 acute overnight and 90 day beds.

A large tertiary referral and trauma centre for the state, this hospital’s Emergency Department provides care to an average of 70,000 patients annually with a paediatric case load of 25%.

The department is accredited for advanced training with ACEM, and offers accredited rotations to anaesthetics, hyperbaric medicine, paediatrics and ICU. Rural hospital posts can also be arranged.

Emphasis is placed on education and a coordinated preparation program along with a full day of education each fortnight, results in a high pass rate for ACEM primary and fellowship exams.
