- About the role
- The Pastoral Care Practitioner Grade 1 will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, culturally safe, person-centred spiritual and emotional care that addresses the needs of patients, families and staff.
- Key responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with the Pastoral and Bereavement Service Team and multidisciplinary teams on assigned wards- Undertaking assessment of emotional, spiritual and religious needs and tailoring pastoral interventions accordingly- Completing accurate documentation in patient files and the Patient Administration System- Prepared to be ‘on-call’ on weekends as rostered
- About You
- You will be:
- Warm and compassionate with experience in delivering pastoral care services in a hospital setting.- Able to respond to the diverse needs of people from faith/no faith backgrounds- Inclusive and approachable with excellent communication skills- Be an accredited Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic tradition (desirable)- Eligible for membership of Spiritual Care Australia- Proficient computer skills and competent in documentation and reporting requirements- Be confident in your knowledge and skills and open to further learning and professional development
- You will have:
- A tertiary qualification in theology or pastoral care or relevant field of studies- Supervised training in providing spiritual care (e.g. Clinical Pastoral Education)
