Assistant Buyer

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to assist the category buyer in all day to day activities in order to source and procure merchandise and promote product range to achieve organisational KPIs for all location.

**THIS ROLE WILL SEE YOU**:

- Weekly and monthly sales analysis, reporting at store and supplier level
- Review new line submissions
- Working with the Inventory Analyst to plan and analyse inventory movements to ensure optimal in-stock levels to achieve organizational KPIs
- Competitive pricing reviews to maintain optimal divisional value proposition
- Work with suppliers to ensure we are achieving the best possible pricing, promotions, rebates, incentive programs and advertising assistance
- Work closely with the stores to ensure a thorough understanding of customer trends and store requirements and ensure best possible execution of merchandise strategies.
- Provide input into planograms

**YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL BE**:

- Achievement of sales targets on a weekly basis
- Achievement of gross margin targets on a weekly basis
- Stock control - chain level stock, store level stock, aged stock, stock on order. This is a shared responsibility with the Inventory Analyst
- Execution of product launches and product promotions
- Core buying skills and competencies - range/product: selection, purchasing, promotion, clearance
- Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships and to negotiate the best terms for Lotte Duty Free
- Develop and maintain positive store relationships to support the delivery of sales and GP budgets by location

**WHO ARE YOU?**

**_ Essential_**
- High level of numeracy skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (excluding Access) skills
- Demonstrable ability to manage various competing priorities and the ability to assess and resolve complex problems
- A sense of urgency and the ability to translate this into effective organisational practices and time management
- Very high level of attention to detail
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

**_ Desirable_**
- Education to tertiary level
