Join team CSIRO as our Digital Communication Advisor, where you will be responsible for creating, editing and delivering compelling, accessible and searchable content for internal and external audiences. You will have a thorough knowledge of the digital landscape, solid editorial judgement and a good understanding of employee communication and collaboration.
Keeping up to date with intranet, social media trends and best practice will be second nature for you as you ensure CSIRO’s digital channels are consistent and in line with the editorial direction set by the organisation. This position will report to the Communication Manager, Employee Engagement and see you working closely with the Digital Manager, Editorial & Content Manager, Media Manager and Employee Engagement team, so your ability to build strong stakeholder connections and work collaboratively is key.
**Your duties will include**:
- Liaise with communicators to produce engaging and effective written content for internal and external digital platforms - including our intranet and employee newsletter, external newsletter (Snapshot), and website (CSIRO.au) to support delivery of the Corporate Affairs strategy.
- Work closely with our Web Team and the Digital Manager to optimise our website's performance, update content, enhance its functionality, and ensure an optimised user experience for engagement, search and accessibility.
- Support the implementation of a complex EDM strategy to effectively engage our target audience, drive conversions, and enhance our brand presence.
- Highlight a diversity of lived experience in your content to share CSIRO’s work.
- Contribute to the Employee Engagement team and manage a pipeline of digital media activities to support organisational, team and business unit specific communication strategies.
- Continually review and introduce innovative and creative communication techniques and technologies to best meet end-user needs and support intranet and social communication network group owners to maintain active communities.
- Seek opportunities to share knowledge and lessons within the Digital and Content, Employee Engagement and Web Services’ teams and across the Corporate Affairs team and the wider organisation, embracing a culture of continuous improvement.
**Location**:Open to be based from any Australian CSIRO site
**Salary**:AU$89,680 - AU$101,459 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:
- Experience managing and maintaining intranets or enterprise social communication and collaboration tools
- High-level communication skills and experience writing for a wide variety of audiences and channels, adhering to author and editorial guidelines.
- Proactive approach and ability to build and maintain high trust, respected and collaborative working relationships with clients across a wide range of disciplines at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in creating user-centric content including optimising for customer experience, search, social and accessibility.
- Demonstrated experience using initiative and working independently to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new information and develop new skills.
- the ability to work harmoniously with other team members, interchangeably sharing tasks and contributing positively to team culture and collaboration.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Sitecore or other CMS and online usability issues and opportunities.
- Understanding organisational tone of voice, brand attributes and the policies and guidelines that exist to support them.
