As the Social and Digital Editor - 10 News First, you will lead the social media strategy for 10’s news content and also help drive the brand’s overall social media strategy. Effectively distributing journalists and contributors’ content across social channels for maximum audience engagement. Developing new audience channels via social platforms and continually building the social footprint for our news and related properties.

Functions/responsibilities will also include (but not limited to):

- Leading 10 News First’s editorial social and video teams (twelve direct reports)
- Managing 10 News First’s news presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc.
- Developing innovative ways to reach audiences via emerging channels
- Utilising social platforms to break, schedule, distribute and maximise content
- Overseeing and executing content for social distribution
- Providing social coverage during live events or breaking news

What are we looking for in a Social and Digital Editor? What’s important?
- 5+ years in a social media and/or digital role within a media organisation
- Prior and proven leadership capabilities/experience
- A natural storyteller who can push the boundaries via social media
- Experience with real-time analytics, social management and share tools
- Track record of developing/executing successful media campaigns
- Understanding of news cycles and reporting
