**About The Position**

Peninsula Health’s Central Sterilising Department (CSSD) is instrumental in providing decontamination and sterilisation processing services at Frankston Hospital and area’s within Peninsula Health. As a member of the CSSD Management team the Instrument technician Grade 5 will work in collaboration with the CSSD Manager to ensure the highest standard of patient care is provided at all times.
The Instrument Technician Grade 5 is required to efficiently and effectively supervise Instrument Technicians on duty ensuring all staff are working per AS4187 standard. The Grade 5 Instrument Technician will demonstrate leadership and lead by example ensuring a safe work environment.
- Works in collaboration with the CSSD Manager to ensure equipment and sterile services

are provided in a timely manner according to demand.
- The Instrument Technician is responsible for the supervision of staff in the CSSD Department in the absence of the CSSD Manager
- The Instrument Technician Grade 5 is accountable for the provision of all aspects in the sterilising process, in line with AS/NZ 4187, guidelines and policies of Peninsula Health.
- Promote the maintenance of a safe environment, in accordance with legislative requirements and Peninsula Health Policies. This includes the Policies relating to Occupation Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control and Equal Opportunity.

**What You Will Need**
- External Applicants must hold Certificate IV in sterilization
- Applicants must hold Certificate IV in sterilization
- Commitment to achieving best practice.
- Willingness to maintain and advance knowledge and skills relevant to that position.
- Commitment to customer service
- Has good communication and computer skills
- Ability to maintain confidentially and use discretion in all aspects of the role
- Undertakes a mentoring role within the department
