Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning,

linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management,car parking, hygiene services and some retail services

We are looking for customer focused Food Services Assistant to work in our kitchen at McCulloch House Palliative Care Unit, Monash

Medical Centre Food Services Clayton.

The vacancy is for part-time position in the afternoon shift on a rotating roster (Monday - Sunday) with the ability to pick up additional

**A Day in the Life**:
Working as part of the Monash Medical Centre Food Services team, the main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering and

exceptional patient meal experience and willing to work within the values of Monash Health.

As a Food Services Assistant, you will be committed to work in a team environment dedicated to delivering outstanding service and your

ability to prioritise and self-mange tasks, interact and communicate well with the nursing team and be proactive and attentive to food service duties will be pivotal to your success in this role.

You must have a good understanding in:

- Diet codes and relevant and appropriate foods
- Food Allergies and intolerance, modified textures and fluids
- Cleaning within a food services environment from a food safety compliance

**Responsibilities include: (but not limited to)**
- Cleaning within a food service environment including kitchen equipments
- Assisting in patient food meal ordering
- Ordering of food required for the services of patient meals
- Participate in all food service quality and food safety audits

**On a Personal Level**
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
- A proactive approach and team player
- Ability to prioritise tasks and complete while working alone or as part of a cohesive team
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer services from a health care or hospitality environment
- Good availability to work the afternoon shifts and weekends
- Ability to work alone without close supervision

**What You Need**:

- Food Handling Certificate (SITXFSA001) Essential
- Understanding of diet codes and relevant and appropriate foods
- Understanding of food allergies,intolerance,modified textures and fluids
- A strong understanding of food safety
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
