Contract Manager - Battery

Location: Melbourne or Sydney | Hybrid Work Options Available

Are you a contract management expert looking to play a key role in Australia’s clean energy transition? AGL is seeking a Contract Manager - Battery to support our Battery Projects, ensuring commercial success, strong supplier relationships, and optimal contract performance.

About the Role

As a Contract Manager, you will lead contract administration, commercial management, and supplier relationship activities for our construction team. Your expertise will ensure the seamless execution of major project contracts, driving value while mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee contract execution, variations, claims, and amendments, aligning with regulatory and project requirements.- Manage and administer key contracts, including EPC contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals.- Ensure effective contract and commercial management, resolving escalated disputes and maintaining strong vendor relationships.- Support the development and enhancement of contracting models and strategies, ensuring best practices and compliance with governance frameworks. Identify and manage risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.- Collaborate with legal, technical, and project teams to safeguard AGL’s commercial position and drive contract efficiencies.- Maintain contract documentation, track performance, and provide governance oversight across multiple projects.- Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with AGL’s HSE policies and leadership development initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Business, Law, or Quantity Surveying.- 10+ years of experience in contract management for large-scale construction and energy projects.- Proven track record in contract strategy development, negotiation, and administration.- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across legal, technical, and executive teams.- Deep understanding of commercial frameworks, risk management, and regulatory requirements in the energy sector.- Excellent communication skills, with experience preparing high-level reports and business cases.- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
