The role of the Regulatory Affairs Manager is to advise Goodman Fielder stakeholders in Australia on, and ensure compliance with, all applicable Food Regulations, Regulatory Guidelines and Information Standards for the production, labelling, and advertising of the Goodman Fielder portfolio of products. This role is also the bridge between Goodman Fielder and the relevant Australian regulatory authorities and associated industry groups and provides advice and formal submissions in response to relevant regulatory developments.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Compliance
- Review and advise on marketing claims with reference to FSANZ Food Standards Code and claim substantiation
- Support, review and act as a key approver of artwork and creative materials and New Product Development including advising on compliance matters in project/gate meetings
- Lead the Goodman Fielder compliance process and associated tooling (online workflow system)
Strategic Support
- Provide strategic leadership in relation to labelling management e.g. roll out of regulatory changes.
- Assist senior leadership to make decisions in relation to regulatory changes
- Identifying opportunities and lead company initiatives, guidelines and processes where appropriate
- Providing regular compliance training
Government and industry
- Government and industry relations and relationship management including representing GF in relevant groups and forums
- Reactive communication with industry regulators (eg. over food safety or compliance issues or CAD)
- Proactive legislative input including supporting the business in making submissions to government regarding regulatory issues
- Keep up-to-date with regulations impacting the manufacture, sale and marketing of food products and assist to roll out changes across the Goodman Fielder group
- Review and ensure compliance with licensing and sponsorship agreements, such as the GI Foundation
- At least 7-10 years' experience in regulatory affairs (or similar)
- FMCG experience (essential)
- dietitian, nutrition or science/food technology background (essential)
- Sound technical background in the food industry specifically in food legislation including FSANZ
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills (essential)
- Consumer law experience (desirable)
