We’re seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team on a Fixed-Term Contract Based at our Chain Valley Colliery, this role is ideal for someone with experience in documenting payroll processes and supporting system implementations.

**About the Role**:
You’ll provide all round payroll support, assist in documenting current processes, and help deliver a new payroll system. You’ll ensure accurate and timely payments, maintain compliance, and drive efficiency improvements across our payroll function.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Process and manage weekly payroll.
- Manage employee remuneration, entitlements, deductions and superannuation (including salary sacrifice).
- Maintain accurate employee and leave records, including shift rosters and various leave types.
- Verify and reconcile payroll reports and data in line with awards, policies, and enterprise agreements.
- Advise employees on payroll, leave entitlements, and employment matters.
- Assist with payroll-related system queries, statistical reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Document payroll processes and contribute to the implementation of a new payroll system.
- Conduct peer verification checks and support internal auditing processes.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally within a medium-large or complex organisation.
- Strong skills in documenting payroll workflows and business processes.
- Experience supporting or implementing new payroll systems is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of relevant employment legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion with sensitive data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach.
