**Job scope**:
The _Pharmaceutical Packaging Machinery Technician in RAYDEL will be r_esponsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of pharmaceutical machines (Blister machine, Capsule counting machine, Cartooning, Head Rotary capper, tamper-proof, Printer coding, among others) and for minimising interruptions due to machinery failures, providing optimal maintenance for all those machines that will prevent their deterioration over the time of their work below optimal parameters. This position will be the direct technical contact with machinery vendors
The machines which are the object of their work perform different operations, such as forming, filling, closing, cartooning, labelling, and marking. In our company, all machinery focused on pharmaceutical packaging came from South Korea and one Sweden machine is used for food packaging (Tube filling machine).
Depending on the job, pharmaceutical packaging machinery technicians may work with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems. They also will work with computerized controllers and vision systems. They need to have a full understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) scenario, including regulations, processes and documentation.
He**/ **She will also ensure that the machinery runs on the best safety and productivity standards, oversee daily operational conditions, promote safety programs and safe work practices, and will participate in investigations related to machinery deviations and damage, among others.
He/she will work directly under the Manufacturing Manager and will respond to quality issues to the Quality Assurance Manager, all under the domain of the General Manager
**JOB MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure the safety and productivity of all packaging machinery
- Maintain interruptions due to machinery failure to a minimum
- To introduce solutions for increasing automated productivity
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for daily work:
- Arrange machines at the beginning of work procedures to ensure that everything is in order
- Test the machines before main work begins to be sure that are in good condition for production according to product specification: the size of the box, leaflet, blister, and bottles, among others like the speed of the machine
- Insert all production materials in the various parts of the machine where they are supposed to be to enhance production output
- Adjust equipment to ensure quality performance
- Clean up machine parts after every working procedure
- Oversee the daily production tasks to direct reports, ensuring adherence
- Promote safety programs and safe work practices through involvement in safety teams, programs, and initiatives
- Participate in investigations and recommends improvements related to near misses, property damage or employee injury incidents
- Complete/conduct essential training specific to the job function
- Maintains safety, quality and production standards for each production run
- Perform minor adjustments to machinery under the supervision of the line operator and/or maintenance
- Responsible for identifying errors and correcting them when skilled and trained to do so
- Perform other duties as requested, including being part of validation execution, as needed.
**SKILLS & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS**:
- Above diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in packaging machinery and operations in the pharmaceutical and/or food industry
- Mechanical, electrical and computer skills as well as good troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure and work with production staff to do the same
- Must have a proactive and continual improvement mindset
- Must be willing to abide by Rainbow Quality Management System (QMS) and safety-rules
- Able to make constant physical activities, such as the ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist; the ability to lift up to 25kg; ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a shift; tolerance of standing posture continuously during the shift; intense walking is involved. Ability to respond to safety signals
