The Commercial Operations Manager will own the commercial operations of the region (Australia and New Zealand) for the Wabtec freight business.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide prompt and responsive service to the sales team, work with them to identify customer CTQ’s and translate the requirements to commercial offerings;- Establish relationships and interface with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and the commercial sales team, to ensure solution offering is aligned with new or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s);- Manage the Value Solution development process to ensure that a quality proposal is delivered within the designated time;- Take ownership of the continuous adherence to internal Policy 5.0, Tollgate, and Deal Review processes and approvals;- Ongoing focus on ITO process Simplification - making the process more efficient, with the right metrics;- Play an active part in the deal negotiation, and contract development; and- Will work to drive deal profitability by balancing customer and market requirements working seamlessly with other functions such as engineering, supply chain and sales team.
Accountabilities:
- Accountable for meeting agreed proposal timelines- Accountable for coordinating different P&Ls and cross functional departments to achieve agreed to proposal timeframes- Accountable for developing deal financial models- Accountable for scheduling and working with teams to complete various Toll Gates on time to meet agreed to proposal timelines- Accountable for writing technical proposals- Work with local teams for budgeting / strap commitments to HQ- Coordinate TG and deal review packs with input from all required stakeholders
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in technical proposal writing- Proven experience in leading Tender/RFQ/RFI responses involving cross P&L engagement- Proven ability to understand and negotiate contracts with large corporates and anchoring the contract negotiation process with Commercial and Legal teams- Proven commercial skills with minimum 5+ years’ experience in sales/commercial roles- Prior experience in contracts administration, renewals and document management- Proven experience in working within a large multinational matrixed organisation with strong focus on governance- Strong presentation skills, developing and presenting to cross functional teams- Supporting regional commercial lead and ensuring ongoing accuracy of order forecast using Salesforce CRM tool and adherence to governance processes at all times- Strong influencing skills across departments to ensure outcomes are achieved- Well-developed and proven organisational and prioritization skills- Full time, 5 days per week- Proven collaborator, enjoys working in a team environment- Self-starter, works with mínimal direction- Strong communicator, both written and verbal- Ability to understand complex information and simplify for broader teams to understand
