**Position Information**:
Parramatta East Public School has a current enrolment of 540 students and serves a diverse school community from over 42 countries. This represents 86% of students with a language background other than English. The school enjoys strong community support and rightly deserves its reputation as an outstanding and sought after public school. **Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a proven capacity to work as part of an executive team and effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher and the complex responsibilities of the Assistant Principal role.
An open, visible and approachable leader with outstanding organisational, communication and interpersonal skills who empowers staff and builds authentic relationships with all members of a diverse school community.
Strong ability to support staff in ongoing data analysis of student achievement to inform strategic teaching and learning, programming and planning.
Demonstrated capacity to lead student wellebing through proactive and responsive approaches, including students with diverse behavioural and emotional needs, focusing on the whole child and ensuring that all students connect, succeed, thrive and learn.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
