As our new Group compliance leader, you will have scope to design and deliver an innovative enterprise-wide compliance system and lead our second line compliance advisory team to support the achievement of our strategic goals.
You will provide operationally independent advice and challenge to senior management and obligation owners. This role is responsible for assessing, proposing, and implementing improvements to mature the organisation’s compliance framework and supporting infrastructure. The incumbent will work closely with the prudentially regulated subsidiaries to deliver a common risk-based group approach, supporting standards and procedures.

**Key responsibilities include**:
- Responsible for governance and implementation of our Group compliance framework, education mechanisms and evaluation of operating effectiveness.
- Consultation with Bank and Insurance second line representatives on solutions that enable sustainable CPS 220 _Risk Management_ compliance and support other regulatory and legislative obligations.
- Understand business objectives and increase business understanding of compliance imperatives.
- Maintain a centralised Office of the Banking Executive Accountability Regime and propose changes required under the pending Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), in keeping with our target risk maturity.
**Key skills & experience;**
- Significant experience within a compliance consulting, risk or audit management role acquired in a complex, matrixed organisation.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence, positively influencing risk behaviours
throughout RACQ.
- Highly developed analytical skills, demonstrating the capability to analyse and interpret complex information from a broad range of sources (locally and internationally) and to present
findings in a clear and compelling manner.
- Proven experience developing compliance systems to automate governance, risk, and compliance activities, streamline work and reduce complexity and potential for errors and / or member harm.
- Demonstrated experience in process and management control design combined with the expert ability to understand operational and compliance risks inherent or emerging in a business.
- Proven experience developing enterprise-wide frameworks to enable sustained compliance with Australian prudential frameworks, regulation, and ISO 37301:2021 _Compliance Management Systems_.
- Experience establishing and maintaining systems to administer Australian financial services (AFS) licence requirements and obligations including product design and distribution obligations; responsible manager coverage; monitoring and supervision frameworks; general compliance; dispute resolution; and conduct and disclosure arrangements.
- Sound understanding of contemporary Australian corporate governance and regulatory drivers.
