We are looking for a dedicated Respite Assistant to join our Community Respite Team at our Myrtle Cottage located in Myrtle Bank, SA.
**About the role**
Reporting to the site leader, you will be responsible for implementing our health focused service delivery model to older adults with physical and/or cognitive care needs. You will ensure our respite clients remain engaged; physically, cognitively, socially; provide support to participate in day-to-day tasks (including meal preparation); and provide opportunities to attend offsite community outings.
You will ensure that the variety experiences offered to our respite clients are meaningful, designed to suit the interest, strengths and needs of each client accessing the service to support their independence and quality of life.
To achieve this core responsibility, you will work with a dedicated Site Leader to deliver high quality, evidence-based Montessori and healthy ageing principles within the service delivery model. You will have the skills to identify early signs of decline and implement strategies to prevent and reverse frailty so that our clients can continue to engage in wellness activities, empower them to develop the skills needed to remain independent and engaged in their home and community life.

**About you**
With a Senior First Aid Certificate, a certification in Dementia Care, Diversional Therapy or any related aged care qualification is essential for this role. As is a demonstrated high level of competency and experience in dementia care service delivery and an understanding of healthy ageing and person centred care.
You will thrive in this role if you are knowledgeable, creative and passionate about person-centred care for people living with dementia and are motivated to promote our philosophy of 'doing with our clients rather than doing for clients'. You will be competent to work in a team environment, displaying a strong work ethic, initiative and creativity in our continuous improvement projects.
