The Geelong team are seeking several Casual Individual Support Workers to provide appropriate, high-quality support and care, to enable people with disabilities to enjoy a positive lifestyle as a respected member of their local community. Support Workers provide positive support to children, young people and adults in one-to-one community based and in-home activities.

**Must be available minimum 10 hours per week and 1 weekend per fortnight.**

- Commitment to ensuring that Gateways services are delivered in accordance with all relevant legislation, service standards and Gateways mission and policies
- Flexibility with work hours
- Patience and good listening skillls
- Ability to work within a team.
- Experience in positively communicating with staff, participants and families
- Valuing attitudes and professional behavior which respects the dignity, rights, strengths, needs and interests of people with disabilities
- Understanding of the OH&S issues that may impact in providing individual support in the community or in a participant’s home
- High standards of ethical and professional behaviour

Demonstrated experience in working with children, young people or adults with disabilities and challenging behaviour will be highly regarded.

**Please note, successful applicants must be available for work on weekends and school holidays.**

Successful applicants will be required to supply a current Working with Children check for an employee, a current Level 2 first aid qualification and CPR update. If you have lived outside of Australia for more than 12 months in the last 10 years, you will be required to supply an international police check from the country where you lived. Employment cannot commence until this check is received and assessed.

Shortlisted applicants will also be required to undertake the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission online Worker Orientation training module called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ prior to attending induction. This is a pre-employment requirement and if not completed, employment will not proceed.
