
Bookkeeper - Part Time

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing various financial tasks, including invoicing, reconciliation, material ordering, and general account management. Your attention to detail and strong numerical skills will be essential in ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to the overall success of our organization.
**Responsibilities**:
- Invoicing: Generate and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure all necessary information is included, such as billing details, product descriptions, quantities, and pricing. Verify the accuracy of invoices against purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank account reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and balanced. Identify and investigate any discrepancies, working closely with the finance team to rectify any issues.
- Material Ordering: Coordinate the ordering and tracking of materials or supplies necessary for the organization's operations. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, place orders as needed, and reconcile incoming shipments with purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
- Managing Accounts: Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Record financial transactions and classify them appropriately. Monitor accounts payable and receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and communicate with vendors and clients regarding any billing or payment inquiries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and assist in generating financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial data and provide insights that support informed decision-making.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies. Stay up to date with accounting principles, practices, and industry standards to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, procurement, and sales, to gather necessary information and support their financial needs. Provide assistance during audits and assist in the preparation of documentation as required.
- The mentioned responsibilities are not limited to the above; the Bookkeeper may be assigned to additional tasks._
**Requirements**:
- Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance procedures.

**Your Availability**: Minimum 3 days a week (9 am to 5 pm at Cranbourne West)
