The Data Officer is responsible for developing and constructing data products, visualisations and services to meet business needs. The role oversees data quality, updating data and assures data workflows are followed.
The Data Officer will also engage with internal/external stakeholders to resolve queries and build effective working relationships at all levels.
The role will work closely with the Insights and Analytics Team and department business units to capture, integrate and visualise data to improve customer experience of digital journeys and the effectiveness of strategic and tactical communications, marketing and engagement efforts.
This role may also be required to provide support to other teams across the Branch, including participating in out of hours rosters, providing support for public emergencies, large-scale communications campaigns and other high priority projects.
Accountabilities
- Implement high quality data and digital solutions that provide best practice user experience and engagement across a wide range of devices and services.
- Support the development and delivery of data dashboard interfaces and visualisations for departmental programs.
- Work with stakeholders across the department to ensure delivery of compliant and approved data for presentation on DH websites and digital channels.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to the branch and other business units on data visualisations, geospatial analysis, information management and analytics issues.
- Ensure the department's digital data content complies with government standards, is easy to understand and is accurate.
- Contribute to data management best practices and innovative use of data visualisation.
- Interpret the needs of relevant stakeholders, maintain effective working relationships across the department, communicate and work in collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
