**Position title**:Disability Support Worker and Community Support Worker

**Reports to**:Admin/Support Coordinator

**Position Description**:
Disability Support Workers provide care, emotional support, physical assistance and supervision for people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

The specifics of the role depend on the client; however, Disability Support Workers tend to focus on tasks that alleviate physical discomfort and promote social connectedness, independence, emotional wellbeing and general health.

**Specific accountabilities Performance measure**
- Assisting with domestic tasks and chores such
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal as shopping, menu planning, cooking, washing, and written communications skills toileting and cleaning
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Helping with outings, social activities and other within a team environment daily routines
- Experience prescribing a range of disability
- Providing companionship and support to assist equipment clients to develop their existing skills, abilities
- Demonstrated high level of problem-solving and confidence skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently (as required) and exercise initiative
- Commitment to providing a client focused service in a timely, consistent, co-ordinated and flexible manner
- Demonstrated knowledge of ongoing issues that living with a disability presents at various life stages

**Education/Qualifications**:
**Essential Desirable**

Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) or a
Certificate IV in Disability (CHC43115) or a Bachelor of
Social Work or a Bachelor/Master of Nursing

**Skills/Knowledge**

**Essential**

Primary form of ID and secondary form(s) of ID with a
- A First Aid Certificate value equal to 100 points of ID
- A CPR Certificate
- Medication training
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or Police Check if transitional rules apply) and Working with Children Check
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Program and COVID-19 training

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Shift work

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates
