**About the role**:
The Facilities Manager role is part of CDC Operations team which is the heart of CDC. Being on the ground, in the data centres every day to ensure CDC continue to be the best specialist data centre provider. This team is proud of their data centres and can’t wait to show them off to our customers. This role reports to the DC Operations Manager.
Your duties involve maintaining uninterrupted and secure facility operations, managing logistics, security, and general maintenance. You'll oversee internal and external facility presentation, ensuring effective workflow management. Additionally, you'll ensure high-standard completion of customer and business-provisioned services, promptly handling escalations and addressing ad hoc priorities.
Other responsibilities include:
- Manage Data Centre facilities operation on a daily and on-going basis, including customer use and interaction with Service Providers.
- Ensure uptime and manage associated risks while undertaking procurement activities when necessary.
- Oversee the onboarding of clients, contractors, and staff, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and necessary certifications.
- Contribute to the creation and management of site expense budgets and deliver objectives under direct influence.
- Provide cultural and operational leadership within the CDC team, mentoring junior staff, and imparting knowledge.
- Act in an ambassadorial capacity for the company, embracing and modelling CDC's DNA and Leadership Fundamentals.
- Lead, attend, and contribute to relevant team and stakeholder meetings and committees to ensure excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Contribute to broader CDC team financial and operational objectives to achieve corporate and long-term goals.
- Undertake procurement activities for CDC and clients, if required, and assist in managing maintenance contracts, including programmed maintenance of non-critical equipment.
- Undertake any other duties directed from time to time, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in tasks
**About you**:
This individual would mentor staff, identifying areas for improvement and facilitating continuous development. Safety would be a priority, with a focus on human error avoidance. They would efficiently manage logistics, maintenance contracts, and relationships with external vendors and internal teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times.
- 3+ years’ experience in Facilities Management and Critical Environments requiring 100% availability.
- Diploma in Facilities Management or extensive related industry field experience.
- Demonstrated financial experience in administrating OPEX budgets.
- Demonstrated experience in schedule and prioritising staff workload.
**Essential**:
- Australian citizenship and ability to obtain, an NV1 Security Clearance
