SHEQ Business Manager

**Date**:28 Oct 2024**Location**:Toowoomba, QLD, AU, 4350**Company**:Ventia- The SHEQ Business Manager (based in Toowoomba, QLD) will work with the business leadership team to establish and operationalise the Infrastructure Services (Sector) SHEQ strategy, champion a culture of care for people and the environment and deliver quality outcomes.Reporting to the GM SHEQ, the key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Set Business SHEQ strategy by aligning Infrastructure Services SHEQ strategy to business goals and objectives.
- Define safety leadership practices in the sector using best practice benchmarks.
- Work collaboratively across Ventia and lead the safety agenda with competing stakeholder priorities.
- Actively train and coach the Business leadership team and project staff in key SHEQ tools and processes.
- Provide capacity building opportunities in environment and quality streams to drive compliance and meet client expectations.
- Support Business teams to manage critical risk controls and provide oversight on risk mitigation implementation
- Monitor and drive workers compensation / injury management / early intervention performance
- Oversee assurance and audit planning and execution, reviewing and monitoring the sector’s performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement across projects
- Lead incident reviews, internal auditing and field inspection activities to ensure compliance
- Manage compliance to Sector third-party certifications, accreditations and pre-qualifications and keep abreast of legislative changes

**About You**:

- Previous significant experience in SHEQ management roles, in High Hazard environments.
- In depth understanding of, and experience adhering to relevant laws/ standards.
- Demonstrated success in delivering Environmental and Sustainability objectives incl. culture change
- Lead Auditor: Environment / Quality Management System
- TAE Cert IV (highly desired)
- Practical client and people management skills
- Ability to develop and translate SHEQ strategy into implementable actions for the Business. Ability to analyse data, benchmarks and implement strategic objectivesReference 160540
