Cobb Lane is an artisan bakery located in the popular village of Yarraville. Our reputation for delicious, hand-crafted baked goods extends throughout Melbourne and beyond. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, specialising in slow ferment sourdoughs and viennoiserie, using the best ingredients available.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bakery Assistant to join our evening team, picking, packing and cleaning at our Yarraville HQ. This is a Part Time position that includes occasional Shift Lead responsibilities.

What we are looking for:

- Minimum 1 year experience in pick packing/supervision preferred
- Previous experience as a kitchen hand is preferred
- Understanding of food safety and handling
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation processes
- Understanding of quality control
- Strong communication, including written and verbal communication
- Excellent time management and attention to detail

Job Duties:

- Preparing bread for packing by slicing and bagging
- Identifying and retrieving the correct baked goods based on customer orders.
- Ensuring the products meet our high-quality expectations.
- Packing the baked goods carefully, meticulously and efficiently for delivery.
- Reporting quality control or fulfilment issues to the supervisor or management.
- Thoroughly and efficiently cleaning and organising the kitchen space, amenities, bakery machinery, utensils and equipment in line with hygiene regulations.
- Ensuring that the bakery is packed down and left in a clean and safe manner at the end of the day.
