Headquartered in Nowra, New South Wales, Air Affairs provides targets and training services, and electronic warfare capabilities to the Australian Defence Force, in addition to aerial surveillance and reconnaissance in support of government firefighting efforts. Air Affairs owns and operates a fleet of special mission aircraft and maintains an advanced manufacturing and engineering facility providing design, manufacture and certification operations.

We are currently looking for experienced mechanic to join our specialist team at our Nowra based site.

As experienced mechanic you will be joining our rescue hoist ground support team. As the Australian sales and service centre for the Breeze-Eastern Rescue Hoist systems, we are responsible for maintenance and overhaul of hoists that support a number of widely recognised organisations.

The rescue hoist is not only maintained at our Nowra based facility but is also fully tested on our ground testing equipment to ensure it is ready for deployment back to our emergency service based customers. Your mechanical skills will ensure your success in this interesting role.

Your day to day role will see you joining a small and supportive team to;
Support maintenance and repair activities

Fault find the equipment

Provide support on the test rig to ensure the equipment is ready to be returned to service

Service and fit new parts where required

Mechanical experience, as a motor mechanic, AME or similar

A systematic and disciplined approach to repairs and maintenance

A willingness to learn

An ability to find and remedy faults in machinery

You will be provided with an opportunity to learn, work in an aviation environment, and support the delivery of rescue services across Australia.
