We are looking to recruit an experienced and accomplished Production Manager to lead, coordinate and control the manufacturing activities within budgeted costs, safety, productivity, quality and product safety standards, to guarantee resources optimisation, engender a continuous improvement environment and assure compliance with customer service targets.
More specifically, you will:
- Lead, manage and engage teams in support of the Detmold Way and be a role model for the company values
- Deliver the Operational Strategy aligned with Safety, People, Performance and Quality
- Develop standards and routines to ensure optimisation of plant and equipment efficiencies to achieve customer service targets
- Identify and implement strategies to improve planning and efficiency of production within budget
- Conduct regular analysis of production data to monitor performance against target and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead continuous improvement programs such as Manufacturing Excellence
- Ensure that standards and controls relating to WHS, Quality, Product Safety are consistently adhered to
- Prepare and implement budgets for capital, operations and labour spend to meet production requirements
- Ensure compliance to budget in labour, burden and waste
- Provide positive leadership and support to the manufacturing teams
- Oversee training programs for all production personnel to ensure competency is achieved in accordance with WHS and Quality standards
- Communicate site performance, company expectations, and all relevant information in a positive and timely manner in accordance with company policies
- Initiate and complete all steps required to manage unsatisfactory employee performance/behaviour under company, site, legislative and EBA guidelines
- Provide leadership and support to the labour planning process to guarantee that production schedule requirements are met on time and in full
- Monitor compliance to GMP and WHS standards, acting where non-conformances are observed
- Investigate Finished Goods and Packaging non-conformances and all customer complaints are investigated, reported and completed in accordance to policy and within the allocated timeframe
- Monitor compliance with all company policies and procedures and take actions to address any noncompliance
To be considered for this role, ideally you will have:
- Strong experience in a production environment, ideally FMCG, leading and managing large teams across multiple shifts
- Experience in developing and implementing continuous improvement strategies
- Experience in reporting to senior management
- Trade qualified or degree qualified or demonstrable comparable experience
- Strong time management skills coupled with flexibility and adaptability
- Outstanding people leadership experience to build engagement, strong team spirit and an environment for continuous improvement
