**The Opportunity: Head of Marine, Australia**
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reporting to the Head of Placement, they will have a meaningful role on the Placement Leadership Team as well as having people management responsibility for a small team of specialist marine professionals. This will also include the support of marine focused colleagues in Client Delivery, Claims and Technical.
- They will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong marine strategy and brand in Australia and help drive a spirit of collaboration with other industry professionals and other regions.
- They will work closely with the Placement Heads for Affinity, Specialty Solutions. National, People Solutions & Global Corporate who will deliver across all areas of Commercial Risk
- Refine, build and measure our Go to Market Strategies (GTMS) for each of our client segments and working closely with the Head of Strategic Platforms to deliver broader capability & adoption of our GTMS
- Implementing and driving our market engagement strategies for Marine, being a face of Aon in the market at a senior leadership level allowing for a more robust escalation framework
- Lead Australia’s engagement of the Global Broking Centres ensuring appropriate resource and service levels across all product teams
- The role will have responsibility for driving innovation and standard methodology including driving improved connectivity with all areas of Commercial Risk to drive improved client experience and outcomes. Their focus will be to deliver new access to capital in line with the core strategic goals of Commercial Risk globally.
- They will lead our Market Insights thought leadership with responsibility for market updates and internal product training alongside our dedicated technical team. They will also help carrier partners navigate Aon via tools such as the Aon Carrier Days.
- Create and champion a culture of sharing insights with clients, carriers and colleagues from Aon’s data & analytics platforms to help drive better and more informed decision making. This should include assisting with the build of more robust data capture methods.
**About you**:
- You must possess strong product knowledge and experience across the Marine sector (or have the ability to build) including meaningful relationships with senior leaders across the industry
- A proven record in clearly articulating an insurer engagement strategy
- Outstanding negotiation and communication skills as well as strong personality that can work in a constantly evolving and fluid role
- Robust insurer network at all levels and ability to communicate and drive optimal outcomes with insurers
- Have the resilience to achieve resolution when resistance is present
- Exposure to Captive structures and sophisticated placements as well as knowledge of the International hubs in London and Singapore
- They will need to collaborate closely with key colleagues across the Client Delivery Teams and other Solutions lines to support a one-firm mentality
- Needs to be able to influence, lead and educate colleagues in circumstances where obstacles and objections may arise in the ordinary course of implementing strategies
- Engaging with global colleagues to bring standard methodology to Australia and create a global network
