About The Team

The project is part of the cold plasma research team, which leads cold plasma-related research at Murdoch University. Research projects are supported by GRDC, Hort Innovation and the Future Food Systems CRC, and most involve postgraduate students. The Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow will be part of the larger Plant Pathology Group.

Your New Role

The Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow will contribute to a GRDC-supported project titled "Cold plasma treatment of wheat and canola for enhanced plant growth, vigour, and yield." The role involves designing and conducting field trials across Australia to assess the impact of cold plasma treatments on wheat and canola growth, yield, and disease tolerance. Working within a collaborative research team, the appointee will receive guidance from the Project Leader while conducting research with increasing independence. Additionally, the role includes contributing to administrative and service activities relevant to the project.

This Fixed Term (3Years) | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of Level A $76,811 - $103,585 or Level B $108,849 - $128,939 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

Selection Criteria:
Postdoctoral Research Associate
- A completed PhD degree in plant science or crop and pasture science or anticipated to complete within the next six months.
- Demonstrated experience in plant science research including design and implementation of laboratory, glasshouse and field trials, appropriate analysis and presentation of results, and the publication of findings in relevant journals.
- Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction, exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in high quality research as evidenced through publication in reputable international journals.

Research Fellow
- A completed PhD degree in plant science or crop and pasture science with at least two years relevant postdoctoral experience.
