Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.
**Your Opportunity**:
The position of Paediatric Registrar (in the role of Paediatric Advanced Trainee Fellow) will:
Participate in the management of patients (of all ages) with metabolic disorders who are admitted to the Queensland Children's Hospital or Mater Hospital Brisbane (adults). Manage outpatient clinics in the above hospitals, Gold Coast University Hospital, Townsville Hospital and Cairns Base Hospital.
Participate in the management of paediatric and adult patients within the Queensland Health Catchment area including northern parts of the Northern Territory and northern New South Wales.
Provide optimum care for patients with inborn errors of metabolism as well as ensuring the Fellow acquires a fundamental understanding of Metabolic Medicine through management of as many patients and clinical dilemmas as possible, all under appropriate supervision.
Deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow level and in accordance with the policies, practices and Values of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including undertaking clinical audits and clinical risk management activities.
Assist in the professional development of junior medical staff and the training of medical and allied health students.
