**Ventia **are currently looking to engage a **Groundskeeper Leading Hand** to join our Defence Base Services Contract. This position will see you working at Irwin Barracks in Karrakatta WA, within a well-established maintenance team. In this role you will be responsible for the upkeep of a diverse range of built and natural park assets which include streetscapes, training grounds, verges and recreational grounds.This position is a full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 06:00am - 02:30pm (with overtime opportunities) and a 12:00pm finish on Fridays. A company vehicle will also be provided for all work-related travel.The payrate for this position is $33.45 per hour.- To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check._

**Key duties, but not limited to**:

- Provide effective and efficient delivery of the land management services
- Supervise and assist the Grounds Maintenance Team and relevant subcontractors as needed
- Complete administration tasks including grounds service inspections, workplace inspections, chemical registers, and relevant reporting
- Induct and train new team members
- Ensure effective communication within the team, including the daily toolbox meetings

**Requirements**:

- Current Driver’s Licence - HR highly regarded
- Certificate II Horticulture
- Chainsaw Ticket - Level 1 or 2
- Agvet Chemical Users Course or similar
- Able to Pass a Pre-employment medical including a Drug and Alcohol screen
- Experience in a similar parks & gardens or landscaping role - Highly desirable
