**About the Business Unit**:
The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the Northwest Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety.

**About the Role**:
The position of an Offender Services Officer is situated within the Offender Services Unit at the Melbourne Assessment Prison.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Delivering a range of programs including Prisoner Orientation
- Acting as a key point of contact for prisoners and unit staff in relation to prisoner welfare and program matters
- Providing advice and support to custodial staff in relation to the management of prisoners including their involvement and referral to prison programs

- Experience in or an understanding of working within a correctional environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- The ability to seek resolution of problems through policy or process guidelines while otherwise seeking guidance by providing information and ideas relevant towards resolution of problem.
