We have an opportunity available for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join the team based at our facility in Pinkenba. This position is a key role within the business with responsibility for managing and supervising the Warehouse department to achieve safety, quality, delivery, service and cost targets.
Role Responsibilities:
- Continually improving your team’s ‘safe system of work’
- Maintain a commitment to Quality by following FLSmidth Quality Policies and Procedures
- Using resources allocated to you to execute work in line with the business production system
- Support, reinforce and uphold leadership decisions and policies across the workshop
- Manage maintenance plans, and action all tooling requirements of the team as required
- Effectively manage people resources to meet warehouse & distribution requirements within budget
- Create strategies for the effective storage of goods, while minimising storage and distribution costs.
- Own the Preservation and Packaging standard for Inbound and Outbound goods to ensure inventory remains in top condition for at least 2 years whilst in storage, and reaches our customers in perfect condition, and compliant to CoR legislation.
- Check the quality of completed jobs and sign off against the job pack
- Plan and schedule consumables and tooling to support reliable and repeatable practices
- Understand business needs by exhibiting an understanding of key drivers and performance measures relating to the department
- Developing your team members in line with your team’s training plan, career development goals and succession plan
- Embracing the FLSmidth Leadership Pipeline as a Leader of Leaders. This includes:
- Translating strategy into operating plans and driving productivity
- Developing leaders
- Assessing and improving the performance of your leaders
- Leading across the organisation
- Leader Selection and building the organisation
- Reporting and presenting your monthly performance results
- Acting on any performance gaps identified in a timely and proactive way.
What you bring
- Relevant qualifications and certificates in Warehousing, Distribution or Logistics
- Coal mine inductions and valid certifications; OH&S including Dangerous Goods, Rigging, Forklift, Scaffolding would be highly regarded
- Significant experience in manufacturing and/or distribution center function
- Stock control exposure / knowledge
- Stock take ownership, control and management
- Ability to create and maintain a safe and orderly stores operation
- Ability to supervise and manage people in a change culture environment
- Quality Conscience, knowledge of ISO 9000 an advantage
- Familiarity with BOMs and manufacturing processes environments
- Proven ability in efficient stores management by utilizing materials handling equipment and stores operations processes
